Listening to music engages us on an emotional, spiritual and intellectual level. It can comfort and soothe, stir and invigorate, evoke and inspire. At times listening to music may simply transport us.

The experience of listening to music is one that we can share with others by going to concerts, festivals or recitals. Music appreciation societies also link up people with similar tastes, whether rock and pop, blues, classical or jazz.

If you have a passion for a particular band or singer, the chances are there's a fan club and if there isn't you could set up one yourself.
