In 2008 the UK Government's Foresight Project on Mental Capital and Wellbeing commissioned think tank nef to develop a set of evidence-based actions to improve personal wellbeing and guide government policy. Based on a thorough review of the literature, these are their five ways, which show that wellbeing doesn't necessarily depend on spending money or consuming more.
