Rowing is a versatile activity that can be enjoyed by all ages as a social, recreational or competitive sport. You may choose to take a leisurely tour along a river or canal, a picturesque cruise around a lake or the coastline, or take part in races and regattas. For the more adventurous, the challenge of surf or long distance ocean rowing might appeal. Most rowing clubs offer a wide range of experiences and basic rowing techniques are easy to learn. Rowing is a great way to keep fit and stay in shape. It helps to develop strength and stamina, uses more major muscle groups that any other sporting activity and provides a full body work out.
