Playing Keyboards |
Written by Catherine Davis | |
Playing a musical instrument is a stimulating and absorbing hobby, and keyboards are a popular choice. A form of personal development and self expression, playing keyboards presents the challenge of learning creative and technical skills such as music reading and hand co-ordination. Playing keyboards could also lead to song writing or performing. Anyone can learn to play keyboards; you don't need to have any special talent. Practice is the key to success, and you may need a little patience at first. The keyboard is played solo or as an accompaniment, and is an aid to composing and rehearsing. Once you have learned chords, posture, hand and finger positioning, you can apply them to playing instruments such as the piano, organ and synthesiser. Keyboards are used in diverse musical forms from blues, boogie and baroque to classical, country and pop.
