SwimmersSwimming can be enjoyed as a relaxing leisure activity or a challenging competitive sport.

The health benefits of regular swimming are considerable. Swimming is an excellent aerobic exercise that increases heart and lung capacity, builds strength and stamina, tones and conditions core muscles and provides a full body workout. Swimming is also a great calorie burner.

A low impact sport, swimming avoids putting strain on the joints. As such, swimming is accessible to all ages, abilities and levels of physical fitness, and is an effective form of therapy after injury or illness.

Being able to swim is a life skill. Feeling comfortable in the water develops self confidence and may encourage you to explore a whole range of water sports including surfing, scuba diving and water skiing.
