|Voluntary Youth Work|
|Written by Catherine Davis|
Voluntary youth work covers a diversity of roles whose aim is to help young people fulfil their personal, social and educational potential and develop both as individuals and members of society.
Depending on your skills and interests, you could provide voluntary support at a local school or youth club, or get involved with the Scouts, Guides or Sea Cadets. There are also a number of community based projects - including those run by the charity Barnardos - which encourage young people to get engaged in positive activities and welcome volunteers in various capacities including assisting at events and fund raising.
Making a positive difference to the lives of young people can very rewarding. Volunteers are also offered training opportunities by which they can learn new skills and enhance paid work prospects.
