Hiking |

From a weekend in the Peak District to an expedition to Peru, hiking can be as challenging as you want it to be. For a real taste of the outdoors, try backpacking (hiking and camping). Another variation is 'waterfalling', which is hiking to find waterfalls. For hiking on hills and mountains, the ability to navigate using a map and compass is essential, as is being properly dressed and equipped for all contingencies. You should also have some knowledge of the climate and conditions in which you'll be walking. Hiking over long distances or difficult terrain is a test of stamina and requires a good degree of physical fitness. It is a good idea to get into training before you go to build up your muscles and endurance and also to wear in your walking boots. Sponsored hikes are a popular way to raise money for charity. Walking as part of a group will also provide motivation, companionship and support. Related Item: Walking for Wellbeing Hiking Ads
