House Plants |
Written by Catherine Davis | |
Most house plants require nothing more than watering, feeding and occasional re-potting. Popular house plant varieties that are easy to maintain include palms, rubber plants, peace lilies and yuccas. You might also consider cacti, succulents and kitchen herbs. When buying house plants, choose specimens with new growth. The label will usually recommend a position; most prefer a light spot out of direct sunlight or partial shade. The majority of house plants are happy at normal room temperature, although some thrive in a bathroom atmosphere. As well as looking particularly attractive, displaying house plants in groups creates a micro-climate which helps raise humidity and reduces the need for watering.
