White Water Rafting |
Written by Catherine Davis | |
White water rafting courses progress from relatively calm waters to increasingly challenging descents. Rapids are ranked from grade one, which is equivalent to a child's ride at a funfair, to grade six, where the adrenalin really starts to kick in; and riding the twists, turns and drops of a fast flowing river is an exhilarating, unforgettable experience. You will usually be in a group of up to eight people on an inflatable raft. Half and full day white water rafting trips are available, and teams are accompanied by a professional guide. No experience is necessary as training is provided on site. Prior to setting off, you'll be given instruction in technique and a full safety briefing, and kitted out with a helmet, life jacket and paddle. Sponsored white water rafting is a popular way to raise money for charity. White Water Rafting Ads
