Shiatsu is a Japanese holistic tradition which employs a 'hands on' healing method; the word shiatsu means 'finger pressure'.
Shiatsu treatment involves massage and manipulative techniques. Firm but gentle pressure is applied to adjust the body's physical structure and harmonise the inner energies which are considered essential to well being.
By stimulating the immune system and the natural healing power of the body, shiatsu aims to promote good health and prevention and recovery from illness.
A complimentary therapy, shiatsu may help to alleviate both specific and general complaints. Shiatsu is beneficial for pain and stiffness in the back, neck and joints, reduced mobility and sports injuries.
Shiatsu is a relaxing experience which can also serve to release tension, countering stress and stress related conditions.
